Canyon Pointe Congratulations to Boulder Housing Partners for its huge accomplishment in winning a $1.3 million grant from HUD to make green upgrades to Canyon Pointe. The 82-unit affordable residential building at 700 Walnut Ave. serves seniors in our community. Coburn is the construction partner on this project. Upgrades includes a major solar installation, new windows and siding, new sliding doors, improved roof insulation, new kitchens and bathrooms for about half the apartments, ceiling fans, interior air quality upgrades, a new boiler, new lighting and water saving devices. Solar upgrades alone will cut utility bills by 30%. The changes are designed to not only increase efficiencies, but also to greatly increase quality of life for residents. Read the Daily Camera story about the project here.

We always come back to work that exemplifies our origins: home restoration and green upgrades. In Vail, we're architects for a mountain contemporary home refurbishment. Work includes indoor additions, new exterior living spaces, a new guest house, and green featu res throughout. The finished home will include a sod roof by Green Roofs of Colorado. Exterior finishes include Cor-ten steel, ship lapped cedar siding and Telluride Gold Stone. Inside incorporates an Ikea kitchen and bathroom, and storage cabinets designed by Coburn. Structural partner on the project is Gebau Engineering.

Penny Flats - Only 4 Units Left We are excited to announce that Phase I of Penny Flats is 76% sold out! With one unit under contract, we have only four residential condominiums for sale.
Downtown Ft. Collins | Coburn started Penny Flats as a public-private partnership with the City of Ft Collins. It is rewarding to see the project come to life, and see residents truly enjoying life in Old Town Ft. Collins. But then again, with a neighborhood filled with restaurants, theaters, museums, parks, bike trails, unique retailers and an eclectic entertainment scene, it comes as no surprise. Learn more about Ft. Collins here. |

Tea Talk Since moving Coburn's Boulder offices to Steel Yards back in March, we have felt a very warm welcome and are enjoying the unique character of the neighborhood. Many of our neighbors are in the design and building industry, either living or working right here in our backyard. Let's put our heads together and brainstorm once a quarter over tea. You don't need to live or work in the Steel Yards to join in. If you're a builder, architect, engineer, subcontractor or anyone who helps shape Boulder and you'd like to join us, please do. We'll be meeting quarterly at Pekoe Sip House, 2500 30th Street (corner of 30th and Steel Yards Drive) on Mondays at 10 a.m. on these dates:
· October 4, 2010 · January 3, 2011 · April 4, 2011 · July 11, 2011 Hope to see you there. |
Work We AdmireThe brilliance of New York City's High Line concept is that it transforms a vast blighted space into something both beautiful and useful. The High Line is a public park and aerial greenway, built on a section of the former elevated freight railroad called the West Side Line, which runs along Manhattan's lower west side. When complete, the park will run one and a half miles. The first section of the park opened in 2009 and has already spurred extensive development. |
