Portland Housing Center's Board of Directors has been accepted into the first NeighborWorks America Excellence in Governance Program. This program involves traveling to multiple NeighborWorks Training Institutes, and working with a coach to identify and improve specific aspects of Board governance.
We would like to congratulate our Board on their acceptance into the program, and thank them for continually demonstrating their commitment to the Portland Housing Center. We also want to extend a special thank you to Cobi Jackson, Oscar Campos, and Lisa Bates for acting as the Board representatives on this great new endeavor!

Portland Housing Center Celebrates 20 Years of Homeownership Done Right!
A lot has changed in the 20 years since we were created to address redlining and discriminatory practices in North East Portland, but our commitment to ensuring everyone in our community has access to homeownership has not.
To celebrate this milestone, Portland Housing Center held an event on June 23. We were honored to have Dr. Melissa Harris-Perry as a keynote speaker, and also held a silent auction fundraiser. The event was able to raise over $41,000.
We want to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone who made this event a success. We especially want to thank our Event Chair, Raejean Sly, Lead Volunteer, Carol Hushman, and Mary Mayther-Slac for Auction Procurement.
