Portland Housing Center Welcomes New Board Members

On behalf of the Board and Staff of the Portland Housing Center, we want to welcome two new board members and to say thank you to six current board members who decided to renew their terms and continue the work of the Portland Housing Center. The Portland Housing Center board and staff is very excited to begin a new year that holds the promise of being one of the best.

We look forward to continuing the work of the Portland Housing Center and to say welcome aboard to our new board members. 
New Members
 
Mr. Mike Schrader works in the Public Finance Department for Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe LLP. Mike's practice focuses on public and project finance matters.  He regularly works with state governments and agencies, local governments and agencies, public utilities, tribal governments and enterprises, for-profit and not-for-profit borrowers in structuring, negotiating and documenting bond issues, loans and other financing arrangements.
 
Mr. Michael Montgomery is the Vice President and Community Development Manager for US Bank in Oregon. His other community affiliations include being President of the Oregon Chapter of the National Forum for Black Public Administrators, being a member of the board of the United Way of the Columbia-Willamette, as well as serving on the Finance Committee for the Episcopal Diocese of Oregon.
Re-elected Members
 
Ms. Jennifer Larsen is the immediate past President of the Board of Directors, and the Assistant Vice President and Relationship Manager for Homestreet Bank. Jennifer has also served on Portland Housing Center's Executive Committee since 2005 and is currently chairing the Washington County Expansion Committee.
 
Ms. Maabi Muņoz is a mortgage consultant. Ms. Muņoz is involved in initiatives to help increase Latino homeownership. In addition to her involvement with the Portland Housing Center, she chairs the Latino Home Initiative - a nonprofit organization dedicated to closing the homeownership gap for Hispanics. 
 
Ms. Irma Valdez is the Secretary of the Board of Directors, in addition to owning and managing her own real estate company, Ms. Valdez serves as a Commissioner for the Portland Planning Commission. Ms. Valdez is a founding member of Latino Home Initiative - a non-profit organization dedicated to closing the home ownership gap for Hispanics.
 
Mr. Curt Penrod is a senior  agency field specialist for State Farm Insurance in the Portland/Vancouver Metro area. He has had twelve years of field and Corporate Public Relations experience in the areas of Communications, Zone Support, Government Affairs and Marketing, and Public Relations.
 
Mr. Brian Stewart is the President of the Board of Directors, and is Vice President of Community Relations with Global Philanthropy overseeing grant making efforts in the Northwest for JP Morgan Chase. He has 13 years of experience in CRA Lending, affordable housing, economic development, consumer and investment sales production.
 
Ms. Deborah Cochrane is the Director of the Portland Teacher's Program. Her primary role is to coordinate efforts across Portland Public Schools, Portland Community College, and Portland State University, with the help of community contacts, to recruit, prepare and retain members from minority and underrepresented groups in the teaching profession.
Portland Housing Center is excited to work will all our new board members. These members will join our existing members Mr. Andrew LeightonMr. Oscar Campos, Ms. Cobi Jackson, Ms. Karen Kitchen, Mr. Javier Mena, and Mr. Robert Walker Jr.
