Dear Fellow League Leaders,

As we struggle through this long and cold winter, in and out of snow drifts, your state board and associated committees are working hard to build a better League of Women Voters of Massachusetts. One thing we have heard through the many focus groups is our lack of communication with the troops on the ground. So, I will try to bring you up to date. In our continuing cost saving measures, we have changed our office structure from one led by an Executive Director to one staffed by an Office Manager. We have hired that person and she is Natalie Kassabian. You will soon be receiving communications from her, and she will be greeting you when you call the office. She would welcome you and your members if you would enjoy volunteering in our office. We will be hiring a part-time person to assist with office duties. Martha Maguire remains our part-time accountant.   

The Strategic Planning Group is midway in their efforts to determine where the State League should focus their concentration. We really need to find a focus and perhaps put some things "on the back burner." If you haven't had a chance to comment, put your thoughts in now! Program planning, budget, nominating and bylaw committees are all in action. With all this activity, one would think the snow banks would melt!
