| Limericks to tickle your funny bone! |
Limericks are silly poems that are five lines long.
Did you know that Limerick poems can be traced back to fourteenth century England.
A Limerick by Edward Lear from his 'Book of Nonsense'
There was an Old Person whose habits, Induced him to feed upon rabbits; When he'd eaten eighteen, He turned perfectly green, Upon which he relinquished those habits
A Limerick by Spike Milligan
A man who was asked out to dinner Came back home looking hungry and thinner He said 'Don't look baffled The dinner was raffled And somebody else was the winner
Now it's your turn to write a Limerick. The best ones will appear in this newsletter.
To inspire you check out these books at your local Idea Store or library.

| Who is your favourite author? |
Do you have a favourite author?
Here are our favourites:
'My favourite author is Enid Blyton. I loved the St Clare's and Malory Towers books and dreamed of going to boarding school. I still recommend them to the children, who say get the same feelings as me when reading them'
Claire, Watney Market Library.
'Terry Pratchett is my favourite author, his books are funny and clever'
Caroline, Watney Market Library
'Meg Rosoff author of How I Live Now, Just In Case and lots more!
She is my favourite because she writes stories that are so different from anything else I've ever read and she lets the children in her books make decisions like adults. Once I start reading I can't stop!
