St. Mary's County K-9 Unit Visits Middle School FLOW
Corporal Todd Fleenor and his team of canine handlers and police dogs came to visit the FLOW middle school programs in March. FLOW mentors and mentees witnessed a demonstration of the attack and search skills of several of the dogs. They also learned about the process of training these highly specialized animals, most of whom respond to commands only in Czech. While no one was permitted to touch the dogs while they were at work, the unit's very friendly bloodhound was brought out for a visit at the end.

Congratulations to
Esperanza MS FLOW
The Esperanza Middle School FLOW participants raised almost $300 to donate to the Relay for Life event to be held at Leonardtown High School in June. Students sold homemade baked goods outside the cafeteria for several consecutive days earlier this month.
Congratulations to the mentees and mentors at Esperanza for their commitment and hard work in making this happen!
