Hello to all our FLOW friends and family!

We are happy to report that FLOW is in full swing in St. Mary's County Public Schools!  Mentors and mentees have spent the past month getting to know one another better and busying themselves in a wide range of activities, games and seasonal festivities.

As we look toward Thanksgiving, we want to express our great thanks to our talented site leaders and mentors who are giving so much of their time, energy, and good will to our mentees and the FLOW Mentoring program.  We are so grateful for you!

oMeet our FLOW Intern!
Kristin

Hi! I'm Kristin and I am I am really excited to be the FLOW intern for the 2011-2012 academic year.  I am from Frederick County and am a senior at St. Mary's College of Maryland (SMCM), majoring in Psychology and minoring in Math and Philosophy.  I have enjoyed being a mentor within the FLOW mentoring program for the past couple of years and consider it one of the most worthwhile things I have done during college.  I have been lucky to be able to maintain a mentoring relationship with my mentee through her 4th and 5th grade years and now in her 6th grade year in middle school.  Instead of meeting with her afterschool (like I did when she was in elementary school), I go during her lunch and recess period.  I also began a new mentor relationship with a 4th grade student this year, which has been really fun.  I am hoping that through being the FLOW intern I am able to get other SMCM students interested and involved in the program.
