From FLOW Mentoring!!

With the snow beginning to fall and the holidays only a few days away, we would like to wish our FLOW family a very warm, safe holiday season. In the spirit of the holidays we would also like to recognize the gifts of caring and support that our mentors give their mentees each week. May each of you have a restful break full of family and friends and know that you are truly appreciated here at FLOW.

Silent Angel Memorial Foundation Gives $1,500 to FLOW Mentoring!

On Sunday, December 5th FLOW Mentoring was awarded $1,500 by the Silent Angel Memorial Foundation at the Ninth Annual Tree Lighting Ceremony.

The Silent Angel Memorial was founded by Mrs. Eileen Bildman in 2002 after her son was tragically murdered to provide hope and support to family members of homicide victims in St. Mary's County. During the annual ceremony, which was held at the Bay District Fire House this year, an angel ornament is hung on a Christmas tree by family members as the name of each victim is read aloud, along with the date that they became a "Silent Angel".

In addition to holding an annual ceremony, the Silent Angel Memorial Foundation also provides contributions to groups that reflect a positive influence on the citizen's of St. Mary's County. This year FLOW Mentoring was honored to be chosen as the recipient organization. FLOW would like to thank the Silent Angel Memorial Foundation for this generous gift and will use these funds to continue its work to provide positive mentoring relationships for young people in our community.

FLOW plans to use this gift to fund a FLOW Mentoring T-shirt contest in addition to providing continuing support for each program.

The Silent Angel Memorial is a non-profit organization that is supported by donations from the community and sponsored by the St. Mary's County Sheriff's Office. For more information about the organization please visit www.thesilentangels.org.
