FLOW Programs Start Next Week!

The majority of our 18 Elementary FLOW Programs will be meeting for the first time next week and we are delighted by the incredible community involvement we are experiencing this year. Individuals from all corners of the county - business people, active duty military personnel, educators, parents, high school students, retired professionals - have stepped up to mentor a child. Applications have been flowing into our office and many of our programs (Dynard E.S., G.W.Carver E.S., Hollywood E.S., Piney Point E.S., Ridge E.S., and Town Creek E.S.) have reached and even surpassed their goals for recruiting mentors.

We thank each and every person who has made this a reality!

However, we still have a number of children who are waiting for a mentor:

If you or someone you know would be willing to become a trusted friend, advisor, supporter to a child, you will be amazed at the difference that a little time each week can make in a young person's life!

Spotlight on High Schools and Middle Schools

High School Boys

This year we are excited to be starting FLOW programs at all 3 of our high schools and continuing programming at all 4 of our middle schools.

Great Mills High and the Fairlead Academy

At Great Mills High and the Fairlead Academy, we will be seeking one-on-one mentors to work with identified students in each school. Both schools are happy to work with your schedule to find a day and time that is convenient for you. Already we are hearing from members of the community who want to help a student make it to the graduation line and create a positive future for themself. If you would like to be one of these valued mentors, please contact us.

Chopticon High, Leonardtown High, and the Middle Schools

At Chopticon High, Leonardtown High, Esperanza Middle, Spring Ridge Middle, Leonardtown Middle, and Margaret Brent Middle we will be following a group mentoring model. We have wonderful staff members who will be meeting weekly with their mentees. However, for these programs we will be looking for people to come in as guest speakers to share their life experience, job experience, talents, and more. If you are interested in being a guest in any of these programs, we would love to discuss ideas with you.
