| Chamber Board Supports Measure A |
The Vallejo Chamber Board of Directors voted to Support Measure A at their April Board Meeting. After surveying our 500 members, the majority of responses returned were in favor of the removal of binding arbitration from the City Charter. The Chamber Board feels a yes vote on Measure A is critical to the financial health of the City of Vallejo. As Vallejo exits bankruptcy, it is imperative we look to new ways of doing business as we move forward to long term financial stability. |

Community collaboration makes opportunities possible for Vallejo High School students
Apache Green Engineering Academy |
Vallejo High School students will soon have an opportunity to learn real world lessons in "green" engineering right here in Solano County. The new four-year Apache Green Engineering Academy, a collaborative effort between the Vallejo City Unified School District and the Solano County Office of Education, has received grant funding from the California Department of Education's California Partnership Academies to support the innovative program which will help local students prepare for degrees in higher education and/or future job opportunities.

2010 CalChamber Business Summit
May 17-18, 2010 - Sacramento, California |
Your leadership can make a difference. Stay informed to help guide California toward recovery.
Never has our business climate been more important to the future of California than now. Business leadership can truly make a difference in improving our economy and creating jobs. Policy makers say they understand the need for "jobs, jobs, jobs." Too many elected officials, however, continue to need strong reminders that they need to realistically assess the impact of proposals on the private sector.
