The Ford Fund will give our community successful methods to bring business, the schools, and government together. The summit focus is to increase graduation rates by linking business and education through innovative partnerships and best practices The speaker will be Rick Delano, Ford Fund Advisory Chair who will discuss preparing today's youth generation for the world of work.
We are hoping for over 250 attendees from business, the school district, students, government and the public. Please put this date on your calendars, this could be the biggest thing in 2010 to benefit our children.

Never has our business climate been more important to the future of California than now. Business leadership can truly make a difference in improving our economy and creating jobs. Policy makers say they understand the need for "jobs, jobs, jobs." Too many elected officials, however, continue to need strong reminders that they need to realistically assess the impact of proposals on the private sector.

CalChamber Urges Support for Prop. 16
Taxpayers Right to Vote Act on June Ballot |
The California Chamber of Commerce is a strong supporter of Proposition 16, The Taxpayers Right to Vote Act, and is asking local chambers of commerce and other members to endorse this important measure on the June ballot.
This initiative simply requires that voters have the final say if a local government chooses to spend public money or incur public debt to create a government-run electricity business. Like most other local special tax and bond decisions in California, a two-thirds vote would be required.

Website Offers Voters Side by Side Comparison of Candidates |
The California Chamber of Commerce unveiled CalChamber2010.com, a comprehensive, first-of-its-kind website offering voters videos and side-by-side comparisons of the gubernatorial candidates' stance and history on issues most important to the state's economy and job climate.

Rick Delano, Ford Fund (Ford Motor Company Foundation) is the keynote speaker. This Summit focuses on increasing graduation rates by linking business and education through innovative partnerships and best practices. This is a community effort, with the Chamber, the Vallejo City Unified School District, Touro University, Solano Community Foundation, at&t and Ford. The goal is to fill the auditorium. This is a FREE event; I am looking forward to seeing you all there!
