Greetings!

This election is about you, your future and the role NSPRA can play in it.

Your vote is your voice in NSPRA!

I believe the key to leadership is being able to translate vision into reality; potential into practice. It is also about mobilizing and uniting people behind a worthy cause. And, it is taking the time to listen to the needs of members and to forge those ideas and concerns into a pragmatic plan of action.

I'm asking you to join me in taking our professional association to the next level so that it has greater relevance and impact in your professional life and for the educational organizations and students you serve. I am prepared to commit my experience, expertise, energy, and enthusiasm in leading NSPRA to accomplish that goal. I would be honored to have your support and vote in this election.

As you consider casting your vote please remember the strengths and perspectives that I will bring to this important position:

I have traveled over one million miles, worked with over 400 school districts and trained over 50,000 educational leaders in effective communication practices so I have a national perspective on your needs as a professional

In my work, I have created dozens of school PR jobs and improved the support for school communications in hundreds of school districts across the country

I have served our association at a state and national level as CalSPRA President and Southwest Region Vice President and have been recognized for my contributions to my colleagues as a recipient of the Barry Gaskins Mentor Legacy Award

I spent nine years as Assistant Executive Director of California's 15,000-member school administrators association so I understand the dynamics, demands and opportunities in leading a professional association

I encourage you to visit  www.tomdelapp.net to find out more about who I am and what I believe. The website contains endorsements from numerous NSPRA leaders who share my passion for our organization. I also have a blog that enables you to join NSPRA Conversations on topics that affect your future in school PR. If you get a chance, please drop me an e-mail or give me a call so we can talk about how NSPRA can positively impact your future!

We're taking time off the campaign trail to encourage you to VOTE in the NSPRA election!

 Obama.DeLapp.McCain

In the next few years, there is a lot at stake for our profession and for public education. Your vote is your voice, whether it's in national politics or the election for who should be the next NSPRA President. Make your voice heard; make your vote count!

Mail ballots have now been sent to all members by our national association. They should be arriving in your mailbox within a few days. Don't put the ballot in your "I'll get to that later" pile. Take a few minutes to read the ballot statements, compare the positions and qualifications of the candidates, and cast your vote. This election affects you and you can affect the future of NSPRA with your vote. I'd be honored and deeply grateful if I can count on your support and vote in this election.

By the way, can you tell which ones are the cardboard candidates and who is the real deal?

Your vote counts! Vote for your future! Vote for Tom DeLapp!
