The video, produced by The Apologetics Group and Go, Stand, Speak Ministries, explores topics from the urgency of the proclamation of the Gospel to the Biblical method of public preaching. Michael Marcavage was also a featured speaker at the recent Go, Stand, Speak Evangelism Summit in Brooklyn, NY, conducted by Jeremiah Cry Ministries. His presentation, "The Law and the Public Proclamation of the Gospel," was an informative, hour-long training session designed to equip evangelists with tactical advice and information on how to deal with law enforcement, along with significant case decisions affirming the rights of street preachers to freely proclaim the Gospel in public.

A Philadelphia prosecutor has prolonged the trial of two evangelists who were arrested over the Fourth of July weekend while preaching Christ at one of the largest mosques in the city. At the initial August 10th trial for Michael Marcavage of Repent America (RA) and evangelist Ken Fleck, Assistant District Attorney Steven Dickinson claimed that he needed at least two hours to present his elaborate case against the evangelists. Because the court could not accomodate the prosecution's lengthy presentation that day, Dickinson moved for a continuance of the trial, which Judge Charles Hayden then rescheduled to be heard in November. 

 

As

outlined in our recent news release, on the night of July 3rd, Marcavage and Fleck had been arrested as they were preaching the Gospel outside of the "Masjid Al Jamia" in Philadelphia. The evangelists had been told by a security officer that was patroling the area that they could not preach on the public sidewalk. When they continued, the security officer radioed the University of Pennsylvania Police Department, which then took Marcavage and Fleck into custody. The police also took Marcavage's video camera, which was used to record the unlawful actions of the officers.     
 
After being released from jail, the evangelists discovered that the police had destroyed their video evidence by completely recording over the footage. They were also issued citations for the trumped-up charges of "disorderly conduct" and "obstructing highways and other public passages." 
 
The trial is now set for Friday, November 12th at 9:00 a.m. in Philadelphia Community Court, 1401 Arch Street, 2nd floor, Philadelphia, PA 19102. 

 

It is also important to note that the District Attorney's Office is now reporting that Steven Dickinson no longer works there, and that they do not know who will be assigned to prosecute the case at this point. 

      
A Call To Action: It is imperative that you speak out against this profound abuse of authority by the District Attorney's Office. Please act by doing the following:
 
1) Pray that Marcavage and Fleck will be completely vindicated of the false charges.
 
2) Consider attending the trial as a demonstration of your support for the evangelists.
 
3) Call or write District Attorney R. Seth Williams and First Assistant District Attorney Joseph McGettigan and respectfully, but firmly, ask them to stop the malicious prosecution of Marcavage and Feck as they were arrested for simply engaging in constitutionally protected speech on a public sidewalk. Repent America will be joining other Christians on September 10th and 11th to preach the Word of God and the Gospel of Jesus Christ on the public streets and sidewalks near the proposed mosque and Islamic community center in New York City. The outreach will address the abortion holocaust in America, which is provoking the judgment of God upon our nation. Every day in America, over 4,000

unborn children are murdered in the womb, exceeding the equivalent of the World Trade Center collapsing day after day. The outreach is scheduled to take place between the proposed mosque site and an existing mosque just a few blocks from Ground Zero. 

The proposed mosque and Islamic community center is poised to become a $100 million, 13-story facility, which will accommodate up to 9,000 Muslims. Earlier this month, Barack Obama hosted a Ramadan dinner at the White House, in which he delivered a speech in support of the Islamic center. Recent reports also state that the project may receive tax-free public funding as its sponsors plan to apply for 70 million dollars in financial assistance from the city.
