Care.  Support.  Solutions. March 2010
LadyDear ,

We are working hard to meet the needs of elders in the community and help all individuals Age Well through Healthy Aging initiatives.  We are accomplishing this through the use of our current expertise - providing Information and Referral to all callers looking for aging resources, providing skilled assessments of consumers in the community for services and providing support for caregivers through education seminars, information resources and one to one counseling services.

Our ability to provide support in the community is also expanding.   Two staff members were recently trained as "Motivational Leaders" for a Chronic Disease Self Management Program.  This program, which is a series of educational sessions in which participants learn how to develop better coping skills, strategies and an overall more effective management of their illness.   We are excited about this addition to our community programs and anticipate that the first series will be scheduled in May.

We also continue to see great accomplishments with our strong community connections and collaborative work with public and private partners.  We share a deep commitment to address the many aging needs of individuals in South Norfolk County with these partners.  Our membership in area Community Health Network Areas (CHNAs), our collaborative work with the Aging Disability Resource Center, our relationship with the Alzheimer's Association and our co-chair of the Project Care Coalition are just a few of the formal working relationships we are dedicated to continuing to allow better service to individuals in the communities of South Norfolk county.

Census 2010

The Census Bureau will mail everyone a short Census questionnaire in March.  The hope is that everyone immediately takes the time to respond to the questions and mails the form back as soon as possible after receiving it.

Census 2010
Census data directly affects how more than $400 billion per year in federal funding is distributed to state, local and tribal governments.
