Dear ,
HESSCO Elder Services is pleased to introduce our e-newsletter. Many of you know us, have used our services, made referrals to us or have made a valuable contribution to our agency as a volunteer or service provider. For others, this may be the first time you have heard of us. In either case, we welcome you and consider you an important part of our community.
HESSCO is an organization whose mission is to help elders age with dignity and independence and stay living in the community for as long as is safely possible. We care deeply about this mission and are committed to providing elders, caregivers and all community members with the support and solutions necessary to achieve this goal.
So, welcome, and we look forwarding to serving you and those you love and care about.

Caregiver Support
Helping with the Journey of Caregiving

Caregiving is a challenge many of us will face at some time during our lives. It is a role which often goes unacknowledged or unappreciated by those around us.
Whether you are caring for someone age 60 and over, an individual with dementia, or if you are a grandparent raising a grandchild, there is support available to you.
The Family Caregiver Support Program connects caregivers to services and gives caregivers the tools they need to manage the stress in their lives.
Do you want to learn more about help that is available to caregivers? Subscribe to our caregiver newsletter or visit: www.hessco.org/family_caregiver for more information.
To subscribe to the Caregiver Newsletter, "The Journey", follow the Update Profile/Email Address link on the bottom of this email. |
HESSCO's Nutrition Program
More than a Hot Meal
HESSCO Elder Services operates a booming Nutrition Program. Daily, hot meals are available in each of the towns in HESSCO's service area. Meals are served at both a congregate site and through delivery to homebound elders. Each meal served meets 1/3 of the RDA (Recommended Daily Allowance) guidelines and other special dietary needs. Our meals earn a 95% approval rating from participants and were featured at the Neponset Valley Chamber of Commerce's Food Gala in 2008 and 2009. Click here to view this month's menu.
HESSCO's meals programs provide more than a hot, nutritious meal. They provide an opportunity for socialization, a set of eyes each day and a warm smile.
For more information about our meals, or to volunteer and make a difference to an elder, visit our website:
