Fannie Mae Approves 2011 CLT Network Model Ground LeaseThe 2011 CLT Network Model Ground Lease has received formal Fannie Mae approval! So for those of you who were waiting to use the new model ground lease pending Fannie Mae approval, your wait is over. We've set up two pages on the CLT Network website to get you going, the first a new Fannie Mae resource page, and the second a model ground lease resource page. Many thanks to Kirby White, who has served as editor for the revision of the model ground lease, and who also collaborated with Fannie Mae in the revision of their CLT-related documents.

Welcoming TA Director Erika Malone and Announcing 2011 Technical Assistance Recipients
We are pleased to welcome Erika Malone as the new Technical Assistance Director for the CLT Network. Erika began work in January 2011 -- you can find out more about her on the staff page on the Network website.
We are also pleased to announce that we have selected the 2011 Technical Assistance (TA) recipient sites. A Network TA Task Force selected the following recipients based on the priorities outlined in the Network's 2011-2013 strategic plan. The Network's TA Program will provide direct TA support to the Southeast Georgia CLT (Brunswick, Georgia), Delray Beach CLT (Del Ray Beach, Florida), Coulee CLT (Westby, Wisconsin), KulshanCLT (serving Whatcom County, Washington), Island Housing Trust Corporation (Martha's Vineyard, Massachusetts). We'll also be assisting in the CLT start-up efforts in Essex County New Jersey and in Richmond, Virginia (hosted by the Better Housing Coalition), and larger collaborative initiatives in Atlanta, Georgia, New Orleans, Louisiana, and the State of Montana. To a lesser degree, the Network will support CLT efforts in Grand Forks, North Dakota and in Southwest Minnesota.
The Network is still accepting consultant submittals in response to our TA RFQ. Please see the website for the form.
For all of your TA questions, please feel free to email Erika at erika@cltnetwork.org. You can also check out our TA Resource Page on the CLT Network website.

CLT Network Comes to Los Angeles
The CLT Network will be collaborating with the Cornerstone Partnership to present a free workshop on "Stewarding Affordable Homes over the Long Term" at the NeighborWorks National Training Institute on March 1st, from 4:30 to 6:00 PM at the Westin Hotel ( 404 South Figueroa Street). After the workshop, you can go right upstairs for a 7:00 PM reception at the Bonaventure Brewing Company, where we've got their beautiful rooftop patio reserved for the event. This is a chance to connect with community land trust folks from California and around the U.S., as well as to find out about the good work of the National Community Land Trust Network and Cornerstone Partnership. As with the workshop, there is no charge for the event. If you are interested in attending either of these events, please contact Greg Rosenberg at greg@cltnetwork.org.

Stewardship Online Learning Community
One of the lessons we have learned is that people can use some help in implementing all the helpful things that we teach in our place-based courses. So this month will be launching a brand-new initiative -- an online learning community geared for folks who have taken our Stewardship courses, as well as other CLT practitioners interested in deepening their knowledge of stewardship issues. We will be kicking off the Stewardship Learning Community with a webinar on Maintenance Reserves, taught by Julie Brunner, on February 10th, at 9 AM Pacific, noon Eastern. Here is the call in /log in information:
If you would like to get a sneak preview of the Stewardship Online Learning Community, check out our collaboration website -- and please sign up as a member so you can participate in the discussion forums. The Stewardship Learning Community will offer a series of webinars, discussion groups where people can "work the problem", and other online resources. Course instructors will be Julie Brunner and John Davis. And guess what -- we will be offering it at no charge! For more information, contact Greg Rosenberg at greg@cltnetwork.org.

| FHA Update
The CLT Network continues to work with FHA staff to complete the waiver process, which in turn will make it possible for CLT homebuyers to obtain FHA mortgages. We will be sending out a survey on February 4th to solicit comments from our membership on a draft mortgagee letter (with comments due the following Friday). Our goal is to provide feedback to FHA on the mortgagee letter by the end of February.

Atlanta Bank Advisory Group Panel Discussion
In response to the great interest shown by the Atlanta real estate financial industry in the community land trust (CLT) shared equity model, a panel of national experts has been convened to discuss and provide more information about the use of this exciting model. The CLT model is used by over 250 organizations across the United States. Current research on CLT impact found delinquencies and foreclosures to be far lower among the owners of CLT homes than the owners of unrestricted market-rate homes during the recession of 2007-2009. Please join us for this special opportunity. - When: Wednesday February 23, 2011, 8:30 am - 11:00 am
- Where: Bank of America Plaza, 600 Peachtree St, Atlanta, GA. 30306
- RSVP: sharron@atlbeltlinepartnership.org prior to February 16, 2011
