Do You Have a Green Legal Thumb?

Opportunities abound in the current climate for production of green energy and green development. In fact, Massachusetts is poised to be a national leader in the production of green energy. With the growing emphasis on "being green", many builders and developers want to obtain LEED certification as it can provide tax credits, attract tenants, justify higher rent and project an image of environmental responsibility. This program will be useful to those practicing in the areas of corporate law and business, regulatory representation, litigation, energy law, environmental law, and real estate. By attending Developing a Green Legal Thumb, you will learn from key state utility, environmental, and energy regulators and attorneys about how to take advantage of the new opportunities and grow your practice.

Clarence Darrow's life was the stuff of which legends, myths, and dramas are made. A master of the courtroom stage who possessed an uncanny understanding of human character, Clarence Darrow was arguably the greatest trial lawyer of the twentieth century. This theatrical production (a DVD created by Periaktos Productions of a performance filmed in the historic courthouse in Deadwood, South Dakota) focuses on four of his cases. It serves to dramatize Darrow's work actions and feelings. Following the movie, an expert panel from the bench and bar will explore with you the contemporary issues and ethical and moral decisions faced in today's legal practice.
