Transform a Concrete Balcony
By Mark Cullen, From hgtv.ca

Question
How can I turn my boring concrete balcony into a welcoming and beautiful
area?
Answer
So glad that you asked! Plenty more high-rise dwellers are asking that same
question.
The short answer is to consider all of the wonderful alternatives that you
have with containers. There are many beautiful wooden, clay, rustic metal, and
other containers available. To get your creative juices flowing, look over the
selection that is available at your local full service garden centre.
Before you buy containers, consider the following questions: What do you
want your balcony space to do for you? Are you looking for colour, or edible
plants? Do you want to create a cool shaded place to entertain friends or a
quiet space to read or eat a meal from time to time? At what time of day does
the balcony receive sunshine? Do you want to attract birds? Do you want the
balcony to act as the garden that you enjoy from indoors all year round? In
which case, you will have to consider permanent containers and winter hardy
plant material. Evergreens can play a big role in the balcony 'winter garden'.

Throw a 'Green' Cocktail Party!
With the summer party season in full swing, it's not hard to keep the
cocktails green, and not in a St. Patrick's Day kind of way.
At the LCBO, in addition to several dozen organic wines, you can find
organic beer (Mill Street) and organic vodka (Square One,). But the real problem is the mixers. However, it's not hard to find organic produce and make your
own.
If that's a little much, you can make your own soda water and
pop with this handy gadget - the Soda Club Fountain Jet.
Classic Lemon Drop Martini
4 fluid ounces fresh lemon
juice 2 fluid ounces Square One (or
other organic) vodka 1 teaspoon white sugar crushed ice 1 lemon, sliced 4 sprigs fresh mint

"Nevertheless, the 8,600 figure is the fifth best June on record, and
indicative of an active, healthy market."

recorded in June 2007. Sales within the 905 suburbs, at 5,119, were also down
