FROM THE RECTOR
skf 2

Happy New Year! I hope 2012 brings with it health, hope and joy.

A new calendar year at St. Peter's means that the Annual Meeting is just around the corner. The Annual Meeting is an important part of our common life together and I encourage you to come and be part of the day. On January 22nd, we will worship together, feast together and then do some business together.

I hope that, in addition to whatever delicious treat you may feel called to bring to our potluck, you'll also bring with you a memory. Part of our time together will include space to briefly hear from people one particular St. Peter's memory or moment from 2011 that was important to you or brought you delight. Maybe it was attending a Civil Union or perhaps a choir anthem. Maybe you heard the Scripture in a new way or experienced God in serving a meal to someone who was hungry. I believe our stories help us hear anew who we are.

Peace,
Sarah+

HAPPENINGS
David Weasley
Welcome Guest Preacher David Weasley this Sunday.

This Sunday we will welcome the Rev. David Weasley as our guest preacher at both the 8:00AM & 11:00 AM. Many will recognize David from the Night Ministry where he has served as the Community and Congregational Relations Coordinator since September of 2010.  He is an ordained American Baptist pastor, and serves on the board of the Association of Welcoming and Baptists, the national Baptist LGBTQ organization.  He lives with his partner and about a dozen others in a co-op in Hyde Park.  He is graduate of Oberlin College and the Chicago Theological Seminary.

Pentecost 2011
The St. Peter's Annual Meeting is January 22nd

Immediately following the 11AM Eucharist, parishioners will convene in the Guild Room for a potluck brunch and the annual meeting. The Annual Meeting is the time we do some of the yearly business and governance of the church. Important business includes the election of new members of the vestry and delegates to next year's Diocesan Convention. Mark your calendar for the meeting and plan to bring a dish for the potluck.

Please note: Committee Reports are now due for inclusion in the 2011 Annual Report. If you have not submitted a report for your committee or event please do this today so that the report may be prepared in time for the Parish Annual Meeting on January 22nd. Submit reports to the Parish Office.
