Service Times You Should Know
  • On Friday, January 6, we will celebrate the Epiphany of Our Lord Jesus Christ, at 7:00 PM in the Church.
  • On Sunday, January 8, we will return to our regular worship schedule, celebrating the Feast of the Baptism of Our Lord, at 8AM in the Chapel and 11AM in the Church.

Brady Campaign

Too Many Victims

On Sunday, January 8th, the Peace and Justice Committee of the Chicago Diocese joins with the Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence and the nationwide Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence in support of a national day of remembrance of gun violence victims.

At St Peter's we'll hold a Remembrance Roundtable during coffee hour (approx. 12:15PM in the Guild Room), reflecting on the lives of those we know that have been affected by gun violence and discussing strategies for achieving and enforcing sensible gun legislation in our city, state and nation. Later that day, all are welcome to join a Candlelight Vigil from 6 - 7:30PM at the Chicago Temple (1st United Methodist at 77 W. Washington). Please RSVP at [www.TooManyVictims.org] to reserve your candle for the evening vigil.

The St. Peter's Annual Meeting is January 22nd
  • Immediately following the 11AM Eucharist, parishioners will convene in the Guild Room for a potluck brunch and the annual meeting. Important business includes the election of new members of the vestry and delegates to next year's Diocesan Convention. Mark your calendar for the meeting and plan to bring a dish for the potluck.
  • All Committee Reports are now due for inclusion in the 2011 Annual Report. If you have not submitted a report for your committee or event please do this today so that the report may be prepared in time for the Parish Annual Meeting on January 22nd. Electronic submission preferred [organist@stpeterschicago.org] but hard copies accepted.
