A Pledge Campaign Update
PLEDGE THANKS: A hearty thank-you to the people who have already made their pledges of wealth, wisdom, and work for 2012. Right now, we're at 65 pledgers and $180,490 pledged. To expand our ministries and fully fund those we have now, our goal is 80 pledgers and $225,000. You can pick up a pledge card at the back of the church or ask one of the ushers for one. And be sure to check out the Sharing Our Story thank-you visual aid in the Guild Room.

World AIDS Day
Aus tiefer Not/From Deepest Night, a new work for World AIDS Day by St. Peter's Artist-in-Residence John Addison Dally, brings together choral music, piano improvisation, speech choir, narration and monologue in a kind of sonic collage. It contrasts the continuing ravages of the bubonic plague in 16th Century Europe with the outbreak of AIDS worldwide in the 1980s and highlights the way art responds to devastating health crises.
Offered by St. Peter's as a benefit for Bonaventure House, a residential treatment facility in the Lakeview neighborhood, the work highlights the particular gifts of each of those communities. Saint Peter's unique blend of excellence in singing and speech arts will provide the context for monologues developed by two residents of Bonaventure House. The whole will be united by the poignant piano improvisations of Br. Nathanael Deward Rahm, BSG, St. Peter's organist and choirmaster. Come and experience this moving reflection on crisis and hope for World AIDS Day 2011. |

If this sounds like a ministry that you'd enjoy, please contact Steve McFadden who would love to tell you more.

Christmas Bazaar and Holidy Luncheon
Christmas Bazaar and Holiday Luncheon Our annual bazaar will be held in the Guild Room this year on Saturday, December 3rd. 100% of net proceeds will be used for St. Peter's outreach program.
- December 3: Bazaar- Luncheon tickets are $10 (or $5 for children under 12). The Bazaar is open from 10AM until 4PM on Saturday. Don Hovey has put together some entertainment during the day to delight our patrons. Luncheon will be served from 11AM until 2PM. The menu will include turkey, salad, and assorted accoutrements. There will still be items and bake goods for sale at the Dec. 4th coffee hour, however the emphasis on that Sunday will be the ingathering of items for the Christmas Baskets. Volunteers are still needed, particularly in the kitchen.
- December 4: Last day to bring in Christmas Basket items- This year, St. Peter's is providing Christmas (in the form of gifts and food) for two Chicago-area families. You may sign-up to provide gift(s) for a member of the family or a Jewel gift card that the family can use for their Christmas meal. The requested limit for gifts is $25-30. The family members listed a few choices for gifts so there will be options to choose from. The Jewel gift cards should be $15. Please feel free to bring in your unwrapped gift by Sunday, December 4. Sign-ups for individual family members are available in the Guild Room. If you have any questions, please contact Qiana Johnson at [q-johnson@pobox.com].
