 Hop on the hayride-it's time to head for the farm! In Cock-a-doodle-MOO!, families will sing songs about the farm, including "Old MacDonald," "Hayride," and "Clever Cows." They'll engage in rituals and playful activities for baby and caregiver, including infant massage, lap bounces, exercise, and quiet time..
 Stop and smell the roses-and lily of the valley, and tulips, and pansies . . . In the DewDrops unit of Kindermusik Village, families will play and move together to songs about flowers, such as "Jasmine Flower," "How Does Your Garden Grow?," and "White Coral Bells." They'll also hear traditional Irish music: they'll dance a jig, move to the "Irish Trot," and exercise to "Did You Ever See a Lassie."

 Hop on the train, get in the car, board the plane, and Away We Go! This delightful, 15-lesson unit focuses on transportation, a favorite topic for toddlers who are on the go, go, go! Sing and play along with favorite songs, such as "I've Been Workin' on the Railroad" and "Wheels on the Bus". Explore fast and slow, smooth and bumpy, and high and low. Read stories about ways to get around. Shiny Dinah tells the story of a train, and Giddy-Up! has a horse, speedboat, racecar, and more to help you get where you want to go. Move, play, and sing together in developmentally appropriate activities created just for 1 1/2 to 3-year-olds.

This unit creates the musical environment of a remarkable toy shop, filled with boats, trains, balls, jack-in-the-box, and many other toys that bring a glimmer into a child's eyes. Plus, we'll take a train trip, boat ride, and explore map making. Imagine That! is music and SO MUCH MORE.

Kindermusik for the Young Child
Semester 2 / Semester 4 for ages 5-7 yrs
15 classes, 60 min., $235
Explore many facets of music - speaking, singing, moving, listening, creating, playing instruments, and learning about reading and writing music. Creative movement or dances are combined with music fundamentals, plus our exclusive addition of "Keyboard Components". In addition, the curriculum introduces the glockenspiel, a pre-keyboard instrument, and string and woodwind instruments like the dulcimer and recorder. Young Child is the perfect pressure-free preparation for formal instruction in piano, violin or voice.
 Playing simple musical patterns and songs on the glockenspiel is a central focus of Semester 2. While learning to sing a melody, and then play the pattern on the glockenspiel, we'll delve deeper into the understanding of musical concepts such as piano and forte through orchestra-style music such as William Tell Overture, and Peter and the Wolf. Music appreciation and understanding continues with a complete introduction to the instruments families of the orchestra.
 Semester 4 introduces simple melodic patterns and songs on the recorder. With a special emphasis on multi-cultural music, your child will learn to improvise and write music, as well as experience the musical styles of the Pacific Islands, Europe, Bach, and Africa; plus play special dances and children's games from around the world, including Alpine dances, Mexico, and Ecuador.

Piano Group Classes

Our piano class is for beginning students teaching rhythm and the keys on the piano with a maximum of 4 students. At the end of the 8-week session, we will evaluate each student with input from the parents and make a recommendation for either another session of group class or private lessons.
