Wednesday Is Deadline to Run for Neighborhood Council

The Chatsworth Neighborhood Council is accepting applications to fill three board seats in a Special Election set for 7 p.m., Wednesday, Oct. 6.

The deadline to submit an application to run is 5 p.m., Wednesday, Sept. 29. Candidates need to file both a Stakeholder Registration Form and a Candidate Filing Form by the deadline.  The forms must be faxed to 818-464-3585 or mailed to P.O. Box 3395, Chatsworth, CA 91313-3395, in time to meet the deadline. Scanned forms can be emailed to info@chatsworthcouncil.org.

Candidates will introduce themselves during the monthly board meeting and balloting will follow immediately at Lawrence Middle School, 10100 Variel Ave. Those in attendance at the meeting will be able to vote. Ballots will be counted and winners will be seated before the end of the meeting.
The seats are being vacated by retiring Treasurer Allen Glazer, a founding member of the council, and Varoujan and Vernalie Deirmenjian who are both long-time members of the board.

Any Stakeholder is eligible to run for office.  The bylaws define a Stakeholder as anyone who lives, works, owns property or boards a horse within Neighborhood Council boundaries.  All seats are at-large and all board members are volunteers.
