Your Chatsworth Neighborhood Council wants to alert you to some fun summer events.  Here's the latest from Councilman Greig Smith's weekly newsletter:

Don't Miss a Free Outdoor Movie and Free Popcorn
This Saturday at "Movies Under the Stars"...


Come enjoy a free family outing at the season premiere of Movies Under the Stars, Monsters vs. Aliensour series of free outdoor films in public parks on Saturday, June 12 in Porter Ranch. 

We will be screening "Monsters Vs. Aliens," an animated kid-friendly film, at Holleigh Bernson Park in Porter Ranch. We will have free picnic dinners (while supplies last), free popcorn, facepainting, and prize drawings. Bring blankets, chairs and picnics. No alcohol, dogs or BBQs please.

This event is funded with Cultural Affairs funds that can only be used for cultural activities in the City, and can not be used for other purposes.

Be Part of Citrus Sunday This Weekend
for the Benefit of Valley Food Banks


Citrus SundayBe part of our 5th Annual Citrus Sunday this weekend, Sunday, June 13 and help bring thousands of pounds of citrus fruit to struggling families at Valley food banks. [The Chatsworth Neighborhood Council is one of the Citrus Sunday sponsors.]

The first 150 people to drop off fruit will receive one free environmentally friendly re-usable shopping bag.The shopping bags are only available at Fire Station 87.

You don't have to sign up as a volunteer - just pick oranges, grapefruits or other citrus from trees in your yard, rinse them off with water and put them in plastic bags. Drop off the bags of fruit at Fire Station 87 at the four drop-off locations on Sunday, June 13 between 9:00 am and 3:00 pm.

West Hills: Field's Market, 23221 Saticoy St. (cross street Woodlake Ave.)

Our partner in Citrus Sunday, Valley Interfaith Council, collects the fruit and distributes it to struggling families served at their food banks in the San Fernando Valley.

SOLID raises money to provide non-City supplied materials to the Police Officers at Devonshire Community Police Station.

Enjoy a Day of Art and Culture
at the Chatsworth Depot Fine Art Show...


Art ShowCome enjoy a day of fine art and culture in our own backyard at the Chatsworth Fine Arts Council's Annual Depot Art Show on Sunday June 13. 

The Chatsworth Fine Arts Council is a non-profit, visual arts support organization that has organized art events in the North West Valley and at the Chatsworth Depot Metrolink Station for over 10 years. 

The Depot Art Show is a great opportunity for local artists to exhibit their art in their own community. The art show will feature paintings, sculpture, photography, glass works and fine crafts, as well as live music, a free children's art project booth, and a People's Choice Favorite Artist Award. Admission and parking are free.
