EMI MUSIC ARTISTS FROM FIVE CONTINENTS LEND VOICES AND IMAGES TO 'ANSWER THE CALL' AND ENLIST PUBLIC SUPPORT OF RED CROSS RELIEF EFFORT IN HAITI

January 22, 2010 - More than fifty recording artists from EMI Music around the globe have teamed up with the Red Cross to help drive support for and awareness of relief efforts in the aftermath of the devastating earthquakes in Haiti.  The campaign, called 'Answer the Call,' features audio and images from musical artists encouraging fans to take action by donating to their local Red Cross to aid their relief efforts in Haiti.

Artists from all corners of the globe, spanning regions including North and South America, Africa, Europe and Australia, are recording audio and video public service announcements in English and in their native languages where applicable.  EMI Music labels and artist representatives will be servicing the PSAs to local, national and international media outlets, and will also be making them available for blogs, websites and individuals to download and/or share them on social networking platforms such as Twitter, Facebook, MySpace, Bebo and more.

"EMI Music has been a tremendous partner in mobilizing their artists from five continents -- South and North America, Africa, Europe and Australia - and more are joining each day to 'Answer the Call' and bring attention to the disaster in Haiti," said David Meltzer, Senior Vice President of American Red Cross International Services. "They have used their public voice to help others and we are deeply appreciative of their generosity."
"We thank these many talented artists for 'Answering the Call' and using their voices to unite and encourage others to help the Haitian people during this critical time," said Billy Mann, EMI's President of New Music, International and Global Artist Management, who initiated the PSA program with the American Red Cross. "It is beautiful to see the overwhelming support from the artist community around the world. We hope others will follow their lead and help the Red Cross provide aid where it is most urgently needed for the people of Haiti."

Media organizations who wish to access these video and audio PSAs can visit ftp://helphait@digitalcontent.emihosting.com todownload them.
Some examples of various artist messages in the PSA include:
