Call members of the Colorado House State, Veteran &  Military Affairs Committee TODAY - March 9, 2009 - or tomorrow morning,
and ask them to support:

SB 88 Domestic Partner Insurance Benefits
for State Employees

This bill has passed the State Senate and is being heard in the House of Representatives State, Veteran &  Military Affairs Committee TOMORROW afternoon - March 10, 2009. The committee must approve the bill for it to move on to the full House.
Please contact the committee members below TODAY (or tomorrow morning) to ask for their support. Tell them:
  • This bill will help the state recruit and retain a skilled workforce.
     
  • One third of all states already offer domestic partner health coverage to state employees. It's time for Colorado to catch up.
  • At a time when nearly 800,000 Coloradans don't have health coverage the state should be a responsible employer by providing insurance to domestic partners of its employees.
  • The State of Colorado should not discriminate against gay and lesbian employees by denying insurance benefits reserved for married couples. SB 88 will eliminate this discrimination for state employees.
