 Recently on my drive home from the office I observed a young girl, no more than 5 years old, holding a fishing pole on the edge of Pleasant Pond. With a broad smile on her face she was looking up at, who I assumed was, her father with wide eyes, proudly displaying her catch of the evening.
Moments shared with our family and friends are often simple pleasures such as chatting over a cup of coffee or casting a line into the local pond.

Section 179 Deductions &
2008 Federal Bonus Depreciation
Beginning in 2008, the maximum Code Section 179 deduction is increased to $250,000 for purchases up to $800,000 for the year.
Also
Effective for purchases made during 2008, 50% bonus depreciation is available for assets first placed in service by the taxpayer.
Just a reminder, however, that the State of Maine only allows $25,000 of Section 179 (unchanged) and no bonus depreciation.

 The Auburn Lewiston Sports Hall of Fame has honored Earl B. Austin Jr. by presenting him with the first annual Earl B. Austin, Jr. Award at their 25th Anniversary Banquet in April. The award is in recognition of outstanding individual volunteerism, leadership and vision in support of athletes, coaches, teams and sports programs in the Auburn-Lewiston community. By the establishing of this award in his name, the Auburn-Lewiston Sports Hall of Fame gratefully acknowledges the outstanding support and personal contributions of Earl B.
