UG Touches The Philippines Through Perspectives
|
This is an e-mail received a few weeks ago from a student at Perspectives:
I don't know if you'll remember me or not, but I was a student for Perspectives last 2009 in Calvary Chapel St. Petersburg Florida. You had prayed for me, and I had shared with you my heart for missions that evening, missions directly for the Philippines.
I just want to tell you, and share with you that God fulfilled that prayer. I am now living in the Philippines, finishing my studies in medical technology, but God has clearly spoken to my heart that this is exactly where I need to be.
Thank you Bob for praying for me that night at Perspectives, I've brought your books ''Run with the Vision'' and others with me here. It's helped a lot.
I am also involved in children's ministry, my friends and I minister to the children who live across the street from a dumpsite called Payatas. Every Saturday we share the word of God to children and youth in Payatas and other parts of Quezon City. I am excited and thrilled to see what else God will do in my life, and what I can do advance HIs kingdom.
Thank you Bob for your faithfulness in serving Christ. Please continue! I have attached a photo of me (in the middle--above) and two of the muslim students that I'm ministering to as well as a photo that you had requested and the children of Payatas.
Thank you again Bob. God reminded me that night of prayer, God reminded me that He used you to impact my life for the global perspective God's movement. I am home because of that and I am walking in the will of God.
In Christ alone,
Mical Tapales

Cat and Dog Theology in the Philippines
|
Taken from Mical's e-mail:
Your book Cat and Dog Theology is sold here in the Christian bookstore, and also the National Bookstore (similar to Borders) located in the mall. My friend said he wanted to read that book, and I gleefully replied "It's a great book, in fact, I've met the author in person!" He didn't believe me at first, but after I had explained to him about Perspectives, I think he finally gave up.
Many people here are familiar with your book, especially from the Philippine Christian Bookstore. I've ran into so many people who have picked up that book and I feel so honored to have been prayed for by you knowing that God used you through this process!!
