New Info on School Choice
The Rhode Island Scholarship Alliance has released the results of the recent school choice survey, conducted by the Friedman Foundation. Our schools are part of the rapidly changing dynamic in our state and Diocese. As tuition increases, enrollments become strained and the Charter School movement begins to gain momentum, the information in this survey provides insight into the population we serve and hopefully provides you as a school leader another resource. I have provided a link to both the survey results and a new Facebook page for your review and dissemination.
In order to begin a meaningful dialogue regarding our schools, school choice and the tax credit program, I encourage you to review the survey, log into the Facebook discussion board and share your thoughts. I hope to see you at the Development Workshop on May 19, 2009 at LaSalle, as I plan to continue this discussion at the roundtables.
