A Letter from Yolene
Yolene and Samantha Pierre
I am Yolene Pierre and my daughter, Samantha, is a seventh-grade student at Bishop McVinney Regional School in South Providence. I am so grateful to all the donors and sponsors of the
Anchor of Hope Fund; for without the tuition assistance I receive from Anchor of Hope, I would not be able to enroll my daughter in a Catholic school.
Samantha has been enrolled at Bishop McVinney School since pre-k and, as she puts it,McVinney is "family" to me.Our son is an alumnus of the school and I can think of no better school for our children than at Bishop McVinney.Everyone has always gone out of their way to ensure that our children have received a quality, faith-based education rooted in the principles and teachings of our Lord, Jesus Christ. The moment I step into the school I am acutely aware of a school environment that supports parents/guardians, teachers, and students and is sensitive to the needs of everyone. The principal, staff, and faculty have an "open door' policy in which families are encouraged to work together with the school in the interests of our children.
My family is so grateful that Samantha has grown up in a school that has prepared her well for not only the academic challenges that lie ahead, but also to make good decisions as she grows older and the temptations only become greater. It has often been a struggle for my husband and I to meet our financial obligations, but with the grace of God and the generosity of the Anchor of Hope, my family knows that Bishop McVinney School has prepared her to be a faithful witness to Jesus' compassion and love. Samantha has been able to develop a strong, personal relationship with God through daily prayer, scripture, doctrine, monthly liturgy, and community service. She has dedicated herself to peace-making and has exhibited a respect and appreciation for all life.
Once again I am truly grateful to the Anchor of Hope Fund for helping me send Samantha to a Catholic school. Thank you so much.
Remember, Hope is Secured by the education of all of our children.
