Greetings!
For over 26 years, Airpack has been providing crating services to the transportation industry. We produce a variety of different crates that conform to our clients needs. Here are a few ways that our crating & engineering sets itself apart from our competitors:
- Most of the crates that we manufacture are reusable, we only use screws (no nails), which makes our crates stronger and easy to disassemble & re-assemble
- We use high grade lumber
- All of our lumber is heat treated
- We use 1/2" panel construction versus the norm of 3/8"
- Construction decking & cleating always conforms to Mil-Specs
- Crating construction and engineering are insured
- We also provide engineering and crating off-site

We provide crating solutions for average to oversized cargo!
We package, and prepare tank engines such as this one, for international shipping. These engines are used in the Abrams A-2 Battle tanks and Fox Landcruisers. They weigh up to 5,000 lbs and are packaged in 7' X 5' X 7' crates.

Airpack works with many Fortune 500 Companies. For example, we constructed a custom crate for a 30 ft. long Boeing 747, Wing Strut Flap assembly. We also constructed several crates for wing components on Boeings 747 aircraft.
These crates needed to be engineered so as to protect the wing assemblies during transit to their faciity in Washington state.

Airpack has also designed crates for 20 ft. long conveyor belt
systems. This particular customer requested that we engineer
and construct them at their facility, because it is a new prototype to the industry.

We design and manufacture crates for 2 of the world's
largest medical equipment manufacturers. These particular
crates are highly engineered, reusable shipping containers
designed so that one person can easily load and unload 300 lbs.
of medical equipment without using any tools in a hospital environment. The simplicity is in the design that our experts
at Airpack were able to engineer.

As you may remember from our last issue, we also take good
care of your fragiles and valuables in preparing them for
transportation.

Military Specification Packaging (MIL-SPEC)
Airpack maintains an extensive Mil-Spec library that is current with all military specification packaging requirements (MIL-STD-129, MIL-STD-130 & MIL-STD 2073). We can assist you to ensure your shipment is packed, marked, labeled and bar coded according to Military/Government Specifications.
We prepare your products according to military specifications packaging standards. We also offer contract solicitations and package engineering consulting. We will review your contract or solicitation packaging requirements, assisting you in providing an accurate and competitive bid.
Airpack will preserve, mark, label, as well as bar code and RFID tag to MIL-STD 129 requirements. We are also able to provide custody control and handle security cage commodities.
We recently completed a Mil-Spec job with over 12,000 axle bearing assemblies going overseas for the Bradley Personnel Carrier, as well as a Mil-Spec job for police grade training pepper sprays that had to be prepared and shipped to military training sites.
From spare parts to complete weapons systems, and military hazmats (hazardous materials), Airpack interprets Mil-Spec terminology and special packing instructions (SPI's). We can also provide inspection and acceptance of your products through our local DCMA/QAR's. From RFQ's to delivery of your product Airpack can assist you with your government contract requirements.
