How do I stay balanced on one leg?
|
- Get Grounded - Imagine that your body is full of water, like a water balloon. Pour all of the water onto your standing foot and keep it flowing there.
- Proprioception - is your body's ability to adjust to subtle shifts in your body weight. This response can be noticed in the slight movements & wiggles that you feel in your ankle bones.
- Maintain Sensible Architecture - Keep your head above your standing foot.
- Feel Strong - Activate your leg muscles without becoming too stiff.
- Focus - Choose one point at eye level for your focus.
- Challenge Your Inner Ear - Move your head slowly side to side, while maintaining your focus on one point.
- Breathe.
- Practice.

Intro to Yoga

This special four class series is for the brand new or "I haven't done yoga in twenty years" practitioner. Come acquaint yourself with the basics poses and breathing of this ancient wisdom tradition that was developed to alleviate suffering in all its forms. The class will explore many aspects of yoga and there will be plenty of time for questions. Be inspired to take up this practice as a lifelong prescription for better physical and mental health.
