I hope to see all our alums at our events throughout the year!"

Her committee members are: Sheila Burch '12  and David Manzi '10.

Raul PorrasRaul Porras is the Recruitment Chair. He is a member of the 2011 cohort, and has a deep committment to the sustainability of the Program. "As the ELP continues to grow after its first decade, the focus of our recruitment efforts will tap into our strong alumni population as a means to strengthen the relationships with our sponsoring organizations and to identify new organizations and industries to approach. There are no better evangelists than our fellows." Recruitment committee members are: Devin Cole '09 and Kate Gorman '11.

She is a member of the current 2012 cohort, and as the Director of Outreach and Communications in the UMass Boston College of Management, she is well positioned to create new, innovative programming. He took the board to a higher level, revising board positions and creating by-laws. We thank him for his leadership over the years, and his ability to make the call to action with "If not you, then who? If not now, then when?"

Join us in thanking them for stepping up to these important leadership roles.

Pay It Forward
Donate ButtonOn June 19, 2012, the Center for Collaborative Leadership and Alumni Board leadership team kicked off our 2012-2013 annual appeal with a goal of $100,000. These funds will enable ELP to offer financial support to more nonprofit participants and support new and existing ELP programs and offerings for our alumni. Between now and October 26, we are asking all Fellows to participate with a goal of 100% participation. Your gift will help organizations such as Diamond Girls Boston, Victims Rights Law Center, and WGBH participate in the program this coming year. Any amount is appreciated. Summer Party
RichieA special thank you to Deanna Yameen '03 for hosting the ELP Annual Summer Get-together. As usual, there was plenty of great food and wonderful hospitality. Congratulations to Charles Smith '12 for winning the Salsa Throw Down Competition.  Click on our Facebook page to see pictures from the party.

On a personal note, I would like to sincerely thank the Center team and Stephen Roger '08, Andrea Zuniga '07, and all of the other conspirators who got it in their head to publicly recognize me at the summer gathering. Public acknowledgement is not my thing, however, I am greatly appreciative for the outpouring of kindness. I proudly display the scrapbook of thank you notes from a number of ELP alums on my book shelf, and count myself extremely lucky to be a part of the Emerging Leaders Program network.  Thank you, Andrea

Exhale Magazine

Patti Quint In the Summer 2012 Issue of Exhale Magazine, three Boston area leadership development programs are highlighted, including the UMass Boston Emerging Leaders Program. Patti Quint, senior vice president at Citibank and alumna of the 2007 program is featured in the article:

On a personal level, Quint said the program boosted her self-confidence and inspired her to pursue the pivotal next step in her career. "I think I had been in the shadow of other people, and maybe relied on other people a little more and hadn't necessarily taken that lead role," she said. "I think my biggest accomplishment was building that belief in myself and my skills."
