Dear Fellows,
The Fundraising efforts have been gaining momentum in preparation for the 10th Anniversary Gala on November 5th. Table sponsorship letters were distributed and we have begun receiving sponsorships and pledges. A callout campaign to follow up will be conducted in mid-July and we are targeting to have all advertisers for the Gala program confirmed by early October.
The Pay it Forward Campaign is also going strong. We have already passed 12% of our $25,000 goal and look forward to announcing the results of the campaign at the 10th Anniversary Gala. In addition to the funding for nonprofit Fellows that this raises, it is also a powerful way to demonstrate to our stakeholders the value that we as graduates place in the Emerging Leaders Program. In addition to the dollar goal, we are targeting 100% alumni participation. If you haven't donated already, please click here to do so and help your cohort be the first to reach 100%.
Finally, a Silent Auction will be held at the 10th Anniversary Gala and we need your help to gather the best contributions possible. Please take a few minutes to think of anything that you may have to donate or individuals or companies in your network which might be willing to donate. Popular items include sports, theatre or other event tickets, wine, golf/fishing outings (generally these are separate outings), and time at vacation homes or timeshares...but also think outside the box, items/opportunities which people might not otherwise have access to are great for raising funds for ELP. Please contact me at sroger@fmd.com with questions, ideas and potential items for the silent auction.
Sincerely,
Steve Roger
Fundraising Chair

ELP Summer Events
We had three social events this summer: ELP at the BSO, After Forum Social at Porter's Bar, and the Summer BBQ.
At the BSO performance on June 23, several ELP alums enjoyed a pre-concert networking reception. The concert, conducted by Keith Lockhart included the music of George Gershwin and Richard Rodgers performed by Broadway stars Kathleen Brett and Ron Raines.
On July 12, Porter's Bar hosted an ELP Forum Social with free Harpoon beer and VanGogh martini's. Many of the fellows in the 2011 cohort took advantage of the chance to unwind after their team project presentations, and we also saw many alums join us as well. You are all invited to join us again on August 11 - same time, same place.
Finally, on July 16, we held our Annual Summer BBQ courtesy of Deanna Yameen '03. It was a great chance to meet families and friends and relax by the pool.

We are gearing up for a busy Fall and we look forward to seeing many of you dressed to the nines at our 10 Year Anniversary Gala: Changing the Face of Leadership. More information below.

Making a Difference on Pressing Economic and Social Issues: Emerging Leaders Leverage Their Professional Skills, Technology, and Social Capital
October 4 from 9 am to 11 am
Hosted by State Street Corporation

Creating a stable and healthy economy is vital for the people who live in the Boston region, the organizations that employ them, and the investors who look to our region for innovation. Current social and economic challenges include ensuring affordable and equitably accessible housing for the people who do the essential work of the local economy, supporting low wage workers so that their work sustains both their families and their organizations in a steady and ongoing way, and providing healthy activity for children to curb the obesity epidemic.
The 2011 cohort of Emerging Leaders engaged these issues, starting with a collaborative process of learning about the issues from community stakeholders and non-profit leaders, and then crafting projects that made a difference in important and concrete ways. Through their team projects, the Emerging Leaders used their professional skills, savvy about social media, and wide-reaching networks to bring resources to community efforts. They also furthered their own skills, for stepping into broader leadership positions in the Boston region and becoming stewards of its future economic health.
Come hear about this year's team projects on October 4, 2011, to discover the lessons learned, the continuity of contributions across Emerging Leaders cohorts from the past and onward to the future, and the ways you can join others mobilizing to make a difference. Register Now.
