Dear Alumni & Fellows,
As you may have heard, 2011 ushers in our 10th year anniversary. We are very excited to celebrate this important milestone for the Center for Collaborative Leadership and its Emerging Leaders Program, now 426 strong! Save the date of Saturday, November 5, 2011 for 10th Year Gala. We will be honoring the Founding Director, Dr. Sherry Penney & the former State Street CEO who had the vision to fund the program, Mr. Marsh Carter, now Chair of the NYSE. We absolutely encourage all of you to attend.
In the meantime, we are planning on publishing a 10 year directory of ELP Fellows. Kindly send your bio revisions to elpevents@umb.edu. We are getting started on this process early, and we will follow up with individuals via email if necessary in order to meet deadlines. Go to our ELP directory page and use the pull down menu to see the bios we have on file.
Sincerely,
Pat

Ron Bell was quoted in the Boston Globe: Ron Bell, a senior adviser to the governor, convened a meeting of what he called "the old school'' - older volunteers, many of them in Menino's group, who had deep experience with canvassing - and "the new school'' - the enthusiastic, technology-savvy but less experienced supporters - at Hibernian Hall in Roxbury several weeks ago. More than 300 people attended, including Patrick himself. "We had people sign up to be precinct captains, to do visibility, canvassing, lit-dropping, phone banking,'' he said. Brief History of ELP |
|
The Emerging Leaders Program is an executive training program for professionals in the Greater Boston area. In the program fellows enhance their leadership skills and learn how to work effectively with other leaders toward specific goals. Each fall, a group of "fellows" is chosen for a 10-month program involving a weeklong seminar, followed by monthly meetings and team projects. At its conclusion, fellows have honed their individual leadership skills in several areas, including communication, conflict resolution, the political process, entrepreneurship, media relations, networking, and teamwork.
