After more than 10 years of living in Boston, Jennifer Waldner '03 is moving back to her hometown of Houston, TX to be closer to her family. Jennifer was selected to the second ELP cohort and during her time, she was an engaged and committed participant who took full advantage of all the program had to offer. However, Jennifer's involvement did not end at the conclusion of the program. She has continued to remain actively connected as an alumna, taking on several leadership roles that are helping to strengthen the core of our growing program.
The ELP Alumni Network has become an increasingly important component of the program experience. Jennifer has served on the Alumni Network Board the past two years and was elected to the position of chair of the alumni board for 2007. In this role, she has helped take the program to new heights, instituting an e-newsletter, formalizing the leadership structure of the board and helping create a range of social, community and continuing education events that will appeal to a diverse group of alumni. With Jennifer at the helm, our alumni became more engaged than ever before which is essential to maintaining a strong and vibrant network.
Most recently, Jennifer had the opportunity to represent the ELP internationally when the program was selected as a finalist for an "Innovation in Learning" competition through the European Foundation for Management Development (EFMD). Following presentations made by each finalist, conference attendees were asked to vote on their top choice. The ELP was selected as the ultimate winner of the competition.
We owe Jennifer our gratitude for her dedication to the ELP, and it is with mixed emotions that we bid her farewell, and wish her the best of luck in her new position at AIG, Houston, as director of community relations.
Best Wishes,
ELP Alumni Board and Staff

Brief History of ELP |
|
The Emerging Leaders Program is an executive training program for professionals in the Greater Boston area. In the program fellows enhance their leadership skills and learn how to work effectively with other leaders toward specific goals. Each fall, a group of "fellows" is chosen for a 10-month program involving a weeklong seminar, followed by monthly meetings and team projects. At its conclusion, fellows have honed their individual leadership skills in several areas, including communication, conflict resolution, the political process, entrepreneurship, media relations, networking, and teamwork.
