Dear ELP Alumni:

In the words of our nation's sixth president, John Quincy Adams, "If your actions inspire others to dream more, learn more, do more and become more, you are a leader."  I think that quote epitomizes the types of leaders ELP Alumni represent. As an Alumni body, we are now 199 strong, with the 2007 Cohort representing 45 fellows that will be joining our ranks this fall.  We are truly a growing force in Boston!

On behalf of the Alumni Board, I am pleased to share with you the first issue of the newly revised ELP Alumni newsletter, ELP Exchange.  This newsletter will be disseminated several times a year as a way to keep you updated on all of the latest happenings within ELP and among your fellow Alumni.  The Alumni Board, made up of 15 committed individuals, is hard at work planning social, networking and other special opportunities to help keep us collaborating, informed and connected. We hope you will take a moment to review this newsletter and consider how you might stay involved and help ensure the ELP Network's future success.

Best,
Jen Waldner

Brief History of ELP

The Emerging Leaders Program is an executive training program for professionals in the Greater Boston area. In the program they will enhance their leadership skills and learn how to work effectively with other leaders toward specific goals. Each fall, a group of "fellows" is chosen for a ten-month program involving a weeklong seminar, followed by monthly meetings and team projects. At its conclusion, fellows have honed their individual leadership skills in several areas, including networking, communication, conflict resolution, the political process, entrepreneurship, media relations, and teamwork.
