CSA Z462 2012 Public Review Draft Online
The Public Review Draft of Z462-12 is live and on display at: http://publicreview.csa.ca/
Dave Shanahan of CSA noted, "Because of the importance of the Z462 Standard to the electrical sector, CSA staff have decided to set up the draft on our new On-line Public Review System. This system is integrated with several on-line social networks and has been made available to a wide international audience. Automatic notification will go out to all people and organizations that have expressed interest in our electrical standards.
There are two major differences in the way this new on-line review system works:
1. The reviewer must first register with the system to gain access to the draft standards (name, affiliation, country, and e-mail address). The reviewer must have a valid e-mail address (identity).
2. The document is only available on-line (no download) and it is reviewable only in pieces for commenting purposes. Similar to the members' ballot comments, the system automatically collects and sorts the PR comments by clause number.
On one hand this new system makes it easier for stakeholders to comment on the technical contents of the draft. On the other hand, it forces reviewers to identify themselves (to a certain degree) and secures the draft document against free downloading and use by those seeking to have early access to the Standard.
Note: the new review page is also accessible via a link located at the top of the old Review Page (https://review.csa.ca/opr/opr_list.asp) - identified as "New: ...Electrical public review drafts". |
Interested in Sponsoring an e-Hazard Class?
We Want You!
For over five years, companies all over have been sponsoring e-Hazard seminars with great results. The e-Hazard training team is the most experienced in the business, working for and with some of the largest companies in the US and Canada. We provide practical and easy to follow safety training that teaches people about the dangers of electricity and how to avoid getting hurt. Our instructors aren't just a bunch of talking heads, they have hands-on experience and, in fact, help write the standards that define the international electrical safety guidelines. We can proudly announce that four of our trainers sit on the NFPA 70E committee. We do not sell PPE and provide the most thorough training. Our attendees claim that we put more in one day than most of our competitors put in two days.
Sponsorship is beneficial for your company! e-Hazard is known to offer qualified OSHA and NFPA 70E training. Arc flash products and solutions are introduced during the classes providing the attendees the opportunity to identify their problems and needs. This enables you the opportunity to step in and become part of their solution.
