ARTIST OF THE MONTH: KELCEY LOOMER
This month, we're proud to feature local mixed media and collage artist Kelcey Loomer of Sweet Mess. Artist Statement "I was born into an artistic family and have been immersed in the arts since
I was young. I grew up in rural Ne w Hampshire which helped formulate my love for the beauty and intricacies of the natural world. My paintings are an evolving exploration of one's 'Sense of place'; The many layers and depth within my work are a reflection of the bonds that tie us emotionally, physically, or historically to a certain place or another being.
I received my BA from Warren Wilson College in NC in 2001. I ended up falling in love with the Blue Ridge Mountains while in school and decided to stay in the area. I now live on a small farm with my husband and my 1 year old daughter. My work has been published in The Decorated Journal and The Decorated Page by Gwen Diehn."
Follow Kelcey's blog to admire her beautiful photos and learn more about her creative process. Visit the Sweet Mess Etsy shop to buy pieces or view more work on Kelcey's Flickr page. |
