Space by Keli Garrett

  In Space, Teacher, Kass, JoJo and Pogo, among others, struggle through an
  odyssey of dangerous floodwaters, caught between two times and two events,
  Hurricane Katrina of 2005 and the Great Mississippi Floods of 1927.



Julius By Design by Kara Lee Corthron
  Directed by Lou Bellamy                                        Saturday, July 25th, 7:30pm

  In Julius By Design, Jo and Laurel, an aging couple, fill their days with crossword
  puzzles and holiday decorating while desperately trying to heal from the murder
  of their son. One day a startling letter arrives which snaps Jo out of her routine
  and sends her on an unexpected journey.



Keli Garrett  Keli Garrett's plays have been produced and developed at Dixon Place in
  New York City, The Women's Project, the Zoo District in Los Angeles,
  Penumbra Theatre, The LAByrinth Theater, New York Theatre Workshop,
  24 Hour Plays, Playwrights Horizon in New York, Rites and Reason Theatre,
  Victory Gardens Theatre, City Lit Theater Company, Chicago Theater
  Company, Organic Theater, The Providence Black Repertory Company and
  The California College of Arts and Crafts. The Rhode Island Arts Council,
  The Joyce Foundation, City Lit Theatre and the Rhode Island School of Design Museum
  have commissioned her work. Keli is a Core member of the The Playwrights' Center.



Kara Lee Corthron  Kara Lee Corthron's plays have been produced and developed by the
  Vineyard Theatre, Center Stage (Baltimore), ACT Seattle (Hansberry
  Project), New Dramatists, New Georges, E.S.T., Page 73 Productions,
  ManhattanTheatreSource, Electric Pear, Horizon Theatre, and African
  Continuum Theatre (D.C.), among others. In the fall, Kara will spend a
  month at the Skriduklaustur Arts Center in Egilsstašir, Iceland where she's
  been invited to develop her new play about racial politics in Iceland. This
  past year, she was a staff writer for the critically-acclaimed NBC drama KINGS. Kara's
  honors include the Princess Grace Award, a 20/20 New Play Commission from InterAct
  Theatre, the Helen Merrill Award, and residencies at the MacDowell Colony, the Millay
  Colony and Ledig House. She is a graduate of Juilliard, member of the Dramatists Guild, and
  a New Georges Affiliated Artist.
