Line 9: Incident Narrative -  A transport van carrying prison inmates veered off a road in El Dorado Friday killing two of the inmates.

Driver Gregory Reed admitted he fell asleep at the wheel, and a passenger tried to grab the wheel to regain control but the van struck a culvert, went airborne and then rolled.

The two inmates killed were Shawn Talbot, 29, and Kelly Walter Ridley, 47,

Line 10: Additional Info - State Police reported that prisoners began screaming, "Boss! Boss!" and that another Private transport guard grabbed the wheel but overcorrected. The van struck a culvert and went airborne, rolling twice before stopping.

Seven inmates and two private transport guards were in the van, which was on its way to Little Rock. Both guards were wearing seat belts, while the inmates were unsecured in the back of the van.

Authorities are investigating the crash.

U.S. Extradition Service, based in Austin, Texas, transports prisoners and inmates under contract with law enforcement agencies.
