In the last newsletter I said "What the mind can contemplate, the eyes can see." Let's talk about your expectations in this one. After all, what your mind expects is what it attracts.
So what do you expect to see happen in your life? Whip out some paper and a pen and write down what you expect. If you are delighted with what you are writing, then 'Woo hoo' to you! But if you start feeling tense and unhappy even before you start, then stop. There is no need to proceed with a line of thought which causes you unhappiness.
I have found that the sooner I get people to shift their expectations, the better for their reality which changes in response to each such shift.
Your expectation regarding what you want determines the road that you take and your destination a.k.a. destiny.
If you expect a positive outcome, then your attraction factor vis-a-vis that situation is good, and you flow towards that positive outcome.
If your expectation of a situation is negative, then you end up swimming upstream.
As you make even subtle shifts in your thinking, your road and destiny change accordingly. In fact your path and destiny depend upon your expectations of a situation. For example if you expect your favorite restaurant to serve you the best pasta, you will take the effort required to get there, won't you? But if you don't expect to be served good food, then no way will you travel the distance required to get there.
There is always the "let me be surprised element" when you don't identify a particular place or person with anything in particular, because you have never experienced them before. For example, going out on a first date is exciting because you don't know what to expect. There is an element of hope that things will turn out great, and so you persevere. But what if you already knew that dating someone was a bad idea? You will be wary of attempting to do so again. Your positive expectations would be low and even if you tried to make things happen, you would be spending energy getting stressed, unless you could totally surrender and flow with the moment.
To get the best out of a situation-
1. You must expect that you will reach your destiny,
2. Based on your expectations, you will then take the best road to get you there.
If your expectations are not well defined, even though you may want to expect better results, your subtle energy expectations will get you to take the wrong roads again and again, seeing the same picture again and again.
Now if you are okay with the pictures that you see, then continue on your chosen road. For example there are cases where people want to fall out of love with their partners because of too much past history, and so such people find it better to continue to walk the road of finding reasons to fall out of love rather than to continue to stay in love and suffer. This is their personal choice and nobody can say that it is wrong or right.
But if you feel that there is hope and that walking a better path or taking a different route will help make your hope into a certainty, then learn to expect better results. Keep going up that emotional scale and find better thoughts that can make a huge difference in your reality.
