Help promote pedestrian safety in St. Paul MnDOT is launching a state-wide Pedestrian Safety campaign to educate pedestrians and motorists about their rights and responsibilities. Kick-off events are scheduled next Tuesday at five different locations in the state.
How can you help?
1) Volunteer at the St. Paul campaign kick-off
Tuesday, September 25th -- 3 to 6 p.m,
7th Street & Kellogg Boulevard, Downtown St.Paul
Contact Samantha Henningson by email or phone 651-266-8641 to volunteer.
2) Share information: help spread awareness about pedestrian safety by hosting an event in your neighborhood or sharing campaign materials in other ways. Banners and materials will be available from MnDOT for community distribution after September 25th. Download materials.
The campaign, titled "pedestrian safety is a two-way street," is part of MnDOT's Share the Road program. It reinforces one of the "three E's" of pedestrian safety -- education. The others are enforcement and engineering. Strong efforts in all three areas are essential for St. Paul to be a safe, walkable city. Since October is historically the deadliest month for pedestrians, fall is an ideal time to get this information out to drivers and pedestrians.
