Two ways to help ensure safer St. Paul streets

1) Jefferson Bike Boulevard Test Median Meeting

Monday, January 24

7:00 pm

Edgcumbe Recreation Center

320 S. Griggs (map

The Saint Paul Public Works Department and the Macalester-Groveland Community Council will share the results of a temporary median that was tested on the Jefferson Bike Boulevard last summer. It is incredibly important that bicyclists show up to support this project, not only for the sake of the test median, but to show support for the bike boulevard concept. As many of you are aware, this has been a hotly debated project and your support is needed.

2) Snelling Avenue Complete Streets Workshop

Monday, February 7

6:30 pm - 8:30 pm

Charles Schulz Arena, Multi-Purpose Room

800 Snelling Avenue South (map

Please join St. Paul Smart Trips and our partners at a workshop to explore how we can make Snelling Avenue safer for people walking, riding their bikes and using the bus.

We will be discussing ways to incorporate Complete Streets objectives into upcoming road resurfacing projects on Snelling. Representatives from the Sierra Club, Active Living Ramsey Communities, Minnesota Complete Streets Coalition, Transit for Livable Communities, the Saint Paul Bicycle Coalition and the district councils will be attending. Representatives from Mn/DOT and city planners have also been invited to join the conversation.
