ZED Meets AIA 2030 Commitment

AIA 2030

ZeroEnergy Design is one of only 56 firms nationwide in 2011 to meet the American Institute of Architect's 2030 Commitment.

Excerpt from the report: "There is a need to shift our thinking and approach to the built environment.  We can no longer consider sustainable design as a separate method of design and practice. Sustainable design is high  performance design, which is good design."

"The intent of the AIA 2030 Commitment is to serve as a consistent, national framework...   As more practitioners become familiar with setting design goals that include energy performance targets and measuring building performance using standardized metrics, this will allow for meaningful  understanding of predicted energy performance and actual energy use. The buildings we design can then begin to transform the way we, as a profession, practice architecture."

Speaking Engagement

GSD Banner

ZeroEnergy Design's Stephanie Horowitz, AIA CPHC was recently invited to speak at the Harvard Graduate School of Design (GSD) Career Discovery Program.

Excerpt from the GSD website: "The six-week summer Career Discovery program welcomes people - from recent high school and college graduates to seasoned professionals - who are grappling with questions like these: Am I headed in the right direction? What would I really enjoy doing? What do I want to do next?

And not just people considering a career in design or planning, but people with a broad spectrum of interests and remarkably diverse plans and goals. What they have in common is the drive and desire to seek the answers to those questions."
