| Largest Solar Electric System on Cape Cod |
|
Oyster Harbors Marine recently completed installation of the largest solar photovoltaic system on Cape Cod atop the marina's new 20,000 square foot addition. It is the unique result of four Massachusetts based companies collaborating on a renewable energy project including Oyster Harbors Marine owners Silvia & Silvia Builders of Osterville, installer Nexamp, Inc. of North Andover, and solar inverter manufacturer SolectriaRenewables of Lawrence.
The 57 kilowatt array, which consists of 276 solar panels, was installed by Nexamp early last month and will produce approximately 30 percent of the electricity needs for the marina, located on North Bay in Osterville, MA.
Ron Silvia, president of Oyster Harbors parent company Silvia and Silvia Custom Home Builders, said he is thrilled about the marina's green approach, while offering high praise for all the Massachusetts-based companies that helped create the array, including Nexamp.
Silvia and Silvia Custom Home Builders constructed ZeroEnergy Design's Truro Residence (featured in the Design New England cover story), and Nexamp installed the home's solar electric system.
