Certification Program is on LinkedIn
Post-Tensioning Certification Group Started on LinkedIn

A big part of our current efforts is focused on brand recognition, that is getting people and companies to recognize our certification logos and what they stand for. It's a big help to contractors when they are submitting their personnel's certification credentials if the engineer and builder already knows about this program and its stringent requirements. It saves time on our end too because we don't have to send them all the program information when they are already familiar with it. After looking at all the methods for disseminating information, we decided that LinkedIn offered one of the best potentials available to us.

With thousands of professionals on-line and active with their LinkedIn accounts, the post-tensioning certification group should expose a large number of people to the program. The group page allows for posting discussions, news, and even job listings. Help support the program and keep up to date by going to the group's home page on LinkedIn now.

Renewal Notices Mailed

Notices sent to everyone expiring in 2009

As discussed in the last newsletter, the first batch of people who got certified under this program when it was first launched are beginning to expire this year. Many of them have already applied for renewal using the forms and instructions that can be downloaded from the web site. Last week we mailed letters to everyone that is expiring in 2009 to remind them that they need to renew and directing them to the web site for more information. Apprenticeship Coordinators can also contact us for a list of their members that are expiring so they can be contacted on a local level. This is helpful since many times the addresses we have on file are three years old and no longer valid.

Certification under this program expires every three years. In order to renew, a person must obtain credits in continuing education and industry involvement and submit their renewal application within one year of expiration. Many of the credits needed can be obtained by continually working in the post-tensioning industry, however at least two hours of credit must be earned by attending a continuing education class or seminar in post-tensioning. If you are someone who produces a post-tensioning class and want it considered for approval for continuing education under this program, please email jim@ptconcrete.com.
