IDF Soldiers Coming Home

Our hearts continue praying for Israel during this fragile peace effort for G-d?s strength and comfort We pray that this newsletter will uplift you as we continue to ?act and pray? for ALL of our beloved families and IDF soldiers who have suffered much loss. We also remember all the innocent who have also suffered as people caught in political and religious turmoil. We continue to stand for Israel and will, G-d willing, keep encouraging those who can to go with us on the Solidarity Tour for the Negev Project in November. We know that ?HaShem is with us? and that ?He who keeps Israel, neither slumbers nor sleeps? (Psalm 121:4). We continue to ?Pray for the Peace of Jerusalem? (Psalm 122:6).

Grace & Marietta Lighting Candle
The beginning of August during Tisha B'av found SHI and our ?local Israel group? supporters praying t?fillah (prayers) with Kavana(intention)for strength and also taking action in support of Israel?s crisis situation. Many families are suffering and we are standing by them in support in various ways.

Our heart goes out to the children and to the young soldiers in harms way. We lit a candle for remembrance and memorial for those who have died in this conflict.

Fresno Meeting COG_RJC
SHI had the lovely opportunity to bring together a group of great people who support and love Israel at a lunch meeting on July 11th. We were so pleased to ?connect? Stuart Weis and also Doug H., both of the Republican Jewish Coalition in Fresno with Bishop Mark Williams, the overseer of almost 300 churches in California and Nevada district for the Churches of God, Cleveland Tenn. denomination.

Church of God (Evangelical and Charismatic) is a Christian denomination that has been very supportive of Israel with its own Ministry To Israel. This is a STRICTLY benevolent-care branch, with its own ?Jerusalem Support Center? in the heart of Jerusalem, Israel. The center is headed by Michael and Gina Utterback who will be at the Grand Opening of the Dona Gracia Anusim Center in Be?er Sheva in November! They are doing a great work with their staff of mitzvah during this present crisis and continually support people in need in Jerusalem giving out food vouchers, clothing, financial assistance to those in need.

SHI partners with this fine organization in Israel, among others in the land. Through the JSC, we serve the Israeli soldiers without families(lone soldiers program) in Israel and also support new Olim in need of extra assistance. For now SHI is raising and giving for the children?s funds in Israel for ?summer camps? to try to keep the children away from the more dangerous areas of conflict in the north through AIPAC and other sources.

CUFI Hutchins & Fenns
On July 18 and 19th SHI joined in partnership with CUFI(John Hagee?s Christians United for Israel group) in Washington D.C. for a banquet in support of Israel. The ?Night to Honor Israel?. This event hoped to receive at least 1,000 but was filled with an overwhelming 3,700 supporters!! Many great speakers were featured and they were all terrific! SHI was able to meet the Washington D.C. representative for CUFI, Dr. Jim Hutchens, President of the Jerusalem Connection organization and his lovely wife, Patty. Their publication the ?Jerusalem Connection? magazine will feature history and stories of the Sephardim Anusim in its next issue for September/October! Watch for our SHI ad on the second page!! You can order a subscription at www.tjci.org to connect with this fine group of Biblical Israel supporters!

The CUFI Washington D.C. event also had an ?action? day on the capital. SHI was privileged to help accompany the CA group and also lead a team to visit various Senators and Congressman?s offices, among those Senator Feinstein! Thank you for your support of Israel our dear USA and CUFI!

Gracia at SJ Solidarity Rally
On July 23, SHI braved the over 100 degree heat to stand with our friends gathered for an AIPAC rally in San Jose Ca! We encouraged one another as we united, said prayers and sang songs in support of Israel! Am Israel Chai!

"Dona Gracia" (in pink) waves the flag of Israel in support of Israel and the local Jewish community.

Please join us in celebration of the release of the new CD ?Waiting for Return? !!! The release date coincides with the "Night To Honor Israel" in Berkeley on August 20, 2006! Dona Gracia Serrano will be leading the music on this night. The production of this CD is a great tribute to the Anusim of Israel and has the most exciting music yet!! You can order this new music CD on our website! It will be offered for a $15 donation, plus $3 shipping.

SHI is looking forward to singing some of this new traditional Jewish music and original Torah and Ladino music at the ?Night to Honor Israel? in Berkley on August 20! We look forward to seeing many of you there! It is not too late to register for a great kosher meal and to hear Avi Lipkin speak on Israel and of course, to meet some of our great Israel supporters! We need your deposit of $250ASAP and the total amount of $2,895 per person is due by September 15th. All information and sign up can be done on the website! We have our secure certificate working now, so you can safely make transactions or buy books, CD?s, etc.

This Israel tour of November 8-20 will be a ?history making? event as we join in the Bus 19 Memorial at Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem. We hope to take them a good donation from the USA! Of course, we will be in city of Be?er Sheva for the Grand Opening of the Dona Gracia Anusim Center on the 19th!

The Grand Opening with the Mayor will be at the Center (details to those attending only for security purposes), plus a mini concert at the Hotel where the tour will be staying overnight. We are so excited about this new door and hope you will join us or help in support of this effort! We need everyone that loves Israel to feel they can be a part of this great Torah endeavor!
Night To Honor Israel
SHI will be singing at one of the Christians United for Israel events ?Night to Honor Israel? in the Berkley area of CA August 20 and we will let you know a report on both of these major efforts.

This Night to Honor Israel in Berkley is a $50 per person Kosher dinner event with a great guest speaker from Israel! SHI will help with music/concert with the proceeds over costs being donated to the Shaare Zedek Hospital in Jerusalem! This hospital is totally independent and treats Jews, Christians and Arabs. Shaare Zedek does not receive ANY funding from the Israeli government. If you are in our northern CA area, you can register at www. acteva.com/go/Israelnight to attend. We appreciate all the organizations and good people who work so hard to stand by Israel when it is not always popular, even in some American circles.
