Saturday: Get Financially Fit for Free
Boost your financial well-being at a free community fair this weekend, from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Saturday, January 28!
The Financial Freedom Fair, sponsored by MetroCASH and its partners, is for everyone who wants to get control of their personal budgets. Visit VCU's School of Business/Snead Hall on Saturday and you'll find:
- Free workshops to help you grow your finances, manage your money and learn about your Money Habitudes.
- A Credit Cafe, where you can pull your free credit report, then attend a free workshop to learn more.
- Free tax preparation services for people who make less than $50,000 annually. Bring the items on this checklist.
- Tips for reducing home energy costs.
- Money workshops for children and teenagers.

A Regional Crisis

The number of children experiencing homelessness in our region is at a nine-year high. Helping these families retain or regain stable housing is critical to give the children a good start in life. Join us and hear from local experts about the needs, the solutions, and how you can help.
Speakers include:
- Kelly King Horne of Homeward, the region's coordinating organization to prevent and end homelessness.
- Carolyn Burdett, executive director of HomeAgain, which provides emergency and transitional shelter.
For lunch: Enjoy pizza, dessert and a beverage provided by United Way, or bring your own.
