I'm very pleased to introduce to you our 2009 campaign leaders and have asked them to share their thoughts on living united. We truly appreciate their steadfast leadership and extend a hearty thank you to them for all they do to improve our region.
Thank you too for your continued support. Together, I know we'll meet with great success in the 2009 campaign.

"The value derived from helping to improve our community is critical. Improving the quality of life in Greater Richmond and Petersburg makes our area a better place to live and work. Volunteering my time and contributing to the United Way provides the best chance for me to have real impact in making our community stronger." | |

"I have always believed that the happiest and most content people in life are those who give to and make a difference in the lives of others. By working with and supporting the United Way, we can change the lives of those most in need. That's what Live United is all about." |
Cecil R. "Rhu" Harris, Jr. Hanover County Administrator and 2009 Local Government & Schools Campaign Co-Chair
"Living United means helping--helping people in our community. We all have some way to help make our community a better place, from giving blood, to delivering meals, to making a donation, there are many ways we can improve the lives of people who need help."

Stewart D. Roberson, Ed.D.
Hanover Superintendent of Schools and 2009 Local Government & Schools Campaign Co-Chair
"In the education profession, we can point to a few community-wide efforts which truly connect our important work with the noble and essential work of many other leading public service providers. Among those efforts, United Way is the primary organization that singularly positions itself and, therefore all of us, in a way which enables us to LIVE UNITED successfully.
It is an honor to give my personal and professional energies and resources to United Way-led campaigns because of the clear track record and positive results we achieve for the people we support, serve, and lead."
